Position Summary The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives and provide solutions. This customer‑service focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, recommending FedEx Office products and services, operating and maintaining equipment, moving boxes and equipment, stocking materials, managing the production queue and output, handling complex projects, managing retail supply, and completing assigned tasks based on priority.

General Duties and Responsibilities

People

Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing store functions.

Assist in the training of store team members.

Service

Demonstrate consultative behaviours to understand each customer’s needs.

Provide expertise in printing, signs, graphics and shipping product lines, and recommend appropriate FedEx Office products and services.

Use consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet customer needs.

Resolve all customer problems quickly and to the customer’s satisfaction.

Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing information.

Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels.

Set up and operate printing, binding and other related equipment using customer supplied media and documents.

Maintain a safe, clean and orderly retail store.

Profit

Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media and packages.

Process financial transactions using a POS, including handling cash and making change.

Clean, repair and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies.

Maintain current retail merchandising materials and proper display of all retail area products and signage.

Take pre‑emptive action to prevent errors and waste.

Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting including daily sales, close‑outs and bank deposits.

Follow FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adhere to legal, HR, safety, customer service and security policies.

Self‑Management

Perform multiple tasks at the same time.

Look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the store.

Operate with minimal supervision.

Adhere to all FedEx Office team‑member and retail store standards as outlined in the handbook.

Perform other duties as needed or required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education.

6+ months of specialized experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

For new hires, meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at hiring.

For current FedEx Office team members, meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.

Essential Functions

Ability to stand for the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.

Ability to lift 55 lbs.

Ability to bend / twist at the waist and knees consistently.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and team members consistently.

Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction consistently.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment under substantial pressure consistently.

Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods consistently.

Ability to work with minimal supervision consistently.

Ability to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance, including at a physical location if required.

Additional Details

Works with management to reduce company costs/wastes and optimize profitability in areas of responsibility.

Applies Quality concepts presented at training during daily activities.

Supports FedEx Office Quality initiatives.
