Coder II – Remote (GA, FL, NC, NH Residents Only)
UF Health is seeking a Coder II to perform outpatient coding of medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 under minimal technical or managerial supervision. Responsibilities
Code outpatient records and ensure proper coding and charge entry for all coded records. Input coding and patient information into the appropriate computer system(s) for billing and abstracting purposes. Identify and correct information discrepancies to maintain data integrity. Work Monday through Friday in a full-time remote capacity. Qualifications
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Required Licensure/Certifications (effective September 22, 2025):
One of the following: RHIA or RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC-H, or CPC. Required Experience:
Six (6) months of acute care hospital outpatient coding experience. Preferred Experience:
At least one (1) year of experience coding emergency room and outpatient clinical records in a large acute care teaching facility. Necessary Skills:
PC knowledge; strong written and oral communication; excellent customer service; attention to detail; organization and flexibility; initiative to meet minimum productivity; thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
