Position Overview Oneida Technology Services (OTS) has an immediate opening for a Network Plant Engineer (ISP/OSP) SME at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the survey, design, and implementation of physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians), conduits, patch panels, and butterfly diagrams.
Oversee the restoration of facilities to pre‑install or better conditions. Work on telecommunication projects of varying size, scope, complexity, and location, supporting preliminary development of the SPRIP.
Oversee and attend site surveys, document current site ISP/OSP configurations, and design and optimize supporting infrastructure.
Approve SDPs and Final SPRIP, define requirements for circuit testing, and follow all applicable standards, including the National Electric Code.
Assist in providing an IUID Marking Plan and a procurement LOM.
Oversee deployment teams for survey, installation, testing, and QA activities, as well as pre‑implementation coordination.
Approve engineering implementation plans and project drawings, perform quality checks, and support safe work environments.
Identify and resolve complex project problems, oversee system pre‑tests and acceptance tests, and ensure installations meet safety standards and work site conditions.
Supervise ISP/OSP engineers or subcontractors, plan and lead major technology assignments, evaluate performance results, and function as a technical subject matter expert across multiple project assignments.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
Technical BA/BS with a minimum of 10 years performing as Lead Wired Engineer or similar skill set on large, complex networks;
High School diploma or associate degree with a minimum of 12 years performing as Lead Wired Engineer or similar skill set on large, complex networks.
Specific Skills
2 years managing/leading ISP/OSP modernization projects
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, AutoCAD)
Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects
Certification & Clearance
BICSI RCDD required
Secret clearance
Compensation
$52-56/hour + benefits
