Responsibilities
Install, perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair power plant boilers, plant auxiliary equipment, and fuel handling systems.
Maintain and repair electronic controls and instrumentation including PLCs, CDSS, VFDs, VDSs, plant electrical systems (12.47 kV, 4.16 kV, 2.3 kV, 480 V, 120/280 V), motor control centers, CEMS, scientific analyzers, steam turbine and diesel generator voltage regulators, governor control systems, and protective relaying.
Support the Cogeneration Facility and Manning Drive Steam Plant operations 24/7/365, addressing events that threaten steam and electric generation reliability.
Develop and implement daily reports on the DCS; support EPA and DAQ regulatory requirements for the CEMS.
Respond to adverse weather events or public health emergencies as necessary to maintain plant capacity.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education:
Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
Experience Requirements:
Repair and maintenance of a variety of electrical/electronic equipment or systems.
Working Conditions:
Work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold, direct sun, precipitation, wind); remain stationary for extended periods; access stairs without elevator; enter confined or hazardous spaces with PPE.
Operational Requirements:
Fundamental understanding of cogeneration systems, equipment, and components; develop daily reports; comply with EPA and DAQ regulations; maintain real-time control and monitoring of plant operations.
Preferred Skills:
Intermediate skill set in electrical, instrumentation, and control circuitry for equipment such as fans, pumps, valves, cooling towers, fluid drives, fuel handling systems, stack lights, and railroad crossing signals.
