Job Overview ISDenver is an independent IB World School offering bilingual education from PreK‑12. We seek a Spanish teacher for the Middle Years Programme to guide students in Spanish language and culture while integrating IB and DEIB principles.
Key Responsibilities
Assume responsibility as the subject area teacher and/or co‑teacher for one or more classes, ensuring holistic development (personal, social, emotional, academic).
Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the course of study, incorporating best practice and an internationally‑focused curriculum.
Challenge and inspire students by matching learning to individual needs and styles.
Record student progress, provide timely, constructive feedback, and maintain accurate attendance and classroom records.
Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, enforcing safety policies and procedures.
Promote positive professional partnerships with families, communicating regularly about classroom activities and student growth.
Participate in outside‑classroom activities (field trips, overnight trips) and school events, staff meetings, and curriculum committees.
Collaborate across academic departments to uphold high standards and support student transitions.
Engage in the ISDenver Growth and Evaluation Process, professional development workshops, and PD training.
Implement a growth mindset, share best practices, and model professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or related field (required).
Recognized teaching credentials (e.g., CO State License) – preferred.
Minimum two years teaching Spanish in ECE, Elementary, or Middle School (required for J1 visa sponsorship).
English proficiency (Level B2 required, C1+ preferred).
Native speaking Spanish (required).
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching methods and technology use (Google Suite, database management).
Ability to work independently or collaboratively, demonstrating analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Eagerness to participate in co‑curricular, extra‑curricular, and PTO activities.
Commitment to the International Baccalaureate Programme and ISDenver curriculum.
Professional, punctual, reliable, and collaborative with a global outlook.
Commitment to DEIB practices in the classroom and school community.
Experience in multicultural settings, including international work experience, is an asset.
Physical Demands
Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
Stand, walk, use hands, reach, bend, stoop or kneel as required while carrying out duties.
Location & Schedule Work hours: 7:45 am–3:45 pm, Monday–Friday (periodic outside working hours may be required). Must be based in Denver, CO. No remote flexibility.
