Equity Research Senior Associate - Aerospace and Defense (A&D) and Airlines Jefferies is seeking an associate for its Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Equity Research team which covers 30 stocks. In this role, the associate will analyze industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of a Senior Analyst. The associate will primarily build and maintain financial models and industry databases to ensure correct and up‑to‑date information for research reports distributed to internal and external clients. The associate will also write earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications, and initiation reports, and will review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings, and other sources to gather, synthesize, and interpret data on companies followed by the US A&D Team. Over time, the associate will communicate recommendations to sales, trading, and clients, help develop marketing materials, meet with management teams of companies, and attend industry conferences where appropriate.

Required Background:

Strong academic background, with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics preferred

1-2 years of related financial services experience, preferably in sell‑side/buy‑side equity research or investment banking

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills – strong Excel skills will be critical

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi‑task with strong attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work in a time‑sensitive environment

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit, and proven leadership qualities

Bachelor’s Degree with high GPA

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong interest in Aerospace and Defense

Solid experience in business modeling and financial statement analysis

Securities licensing a plus (Series 7/63 and 86/87)

Primary Location: Full‑time, Salary Range of $135,000 – $165,000.
