Lab Technician
The Lab Technician plays a critical role in sample logging, testing, condition monitoring, and lab upkeep as part of the Quality team. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with the R&D team, handle samples, and perform production floor checks. Key responsibilities include lab testing, supporting blending and packaging functions of high-performance petroleum products, and ensuring reliability and conformance to specifications through instrumental analysis. Responsibilities Monitor conditions, assist in running lab tests, and support the quality department. Perform tasks such as pipetting, titrations, fuel dilution, labeling, bar coding, and maintaining lab quality standards. Conduct lab tests throughout the full product lifecycle, including FTIR, Viscosity, Density, Pour-point, Cold Crank, XRF, and ICP. Calibrate, validate, and troubleshoot instruments. Manage sample receiving, in-process testing, result generation, and lab upkeep. Prepare results using the LIMS system and compile test reports as required. Maintain lab quality standards and document continuous results and other reports. Essential Skills Experience with titration, laboratory techniques, wet chemistry, QA/QC processes. Proficiency in laboratory tasks such as pipetting and viscosity testing. Familiarity with ICP and ICP-MS instruments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related lab sciences field. 6-12 months of academic or quality lab experience. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
