Commercial Construction Estimator

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing Houston-based team. This role plays a key part in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for aviation-related and large-scale commercial construction projects nationwide. The ideal candidate is a strategic, detail-oriented professional who excels at cost analysis, relationship building, and market research. You'll work closely with design, development, and construction partners while traveling periodically to develop and maintain strong networks of subcontractors, general contractors, and vendors in multiple U.S. markets. Key Responsibilities

Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed cost estimates for aviation and commercial projects. Analyze plans, specifications, and related documentation to determine time, materials, labor, and overall costs. Build and maintain a national database of qualified subcontractors, general contractors, and suppliers across targeted markets. Conduct field visits nationwide (12x per month) to cultivate vendor and subcontractor relationships. Collaborate with internal design and development teams to ensure cost alignment with project goals. Participate in design reviews, pre-bid meetings, and project hand-offs. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accurate scope coverage and risk mitigation. Identify value engineering opportunities and propose constructability solutions. Assist in bid preparation, presentations, and proposal support. Maintain accurate historical cost data for ongoing estimating improvements. Qualifications

7+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (aviation, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure experience preferred). Strong understanding of CSI divisions particularly site development, structural systems, MEP, and finishes. Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and estimating tools such as Sage Estimating, WinEst, or similar software. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability and willingness to travel nationwide up to twice per month. Highly organized, analytical, and proactive approach to cost management and problem-solving. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Preferred Experience

Experience with national design-build programs or multi-site rollouts. Familiarity with aviation infrastructure (hangars, aprons, FBOs, support facilities). Exposure to procurement and estimating across diverse U.S. construction markets.
