Currently, we are looking for one (1) Community Service Praise Director at Joint Air Force Base in Andrews AFB (JB Andrews), MD.

Location: JBAB Chapel.

Work Hours/Days: Required to be present for the following:

Sunday Worship: 1100hrs The Community Service Praise Team Director shall report to Chapel One 45 minutes before any scheduled worship service/activity is covered. Weekly practice: Time and location to be coordinated with the lead service Chaplain or designee. The Praise Director will provide no less than 2 hours per week (not to exceed 10 hours per week), including but not limited to every Sunday for protestant worship service(s), one (1) weekly weekday rehearsal, and special events (holidays, special chapel events, funeral, and memorial services). You will work an average of 7 hours per week (no less than 2 hours but no more than 10 per week), which averages 364 total hours per year. Security Requirements: You must be cleared to work with children per DoDI 1402.5. You must clear/pass a criminal history background.

Primary Responsibilities:

In coordination with the Protestant Chaplain, lead the choir and congregation in song during regularly scheduled Sunday service(s) and for one (1) choir rehearsal per week. Arrive at least 45 minutes before the beginning of services for setting up and meeting with the Protestant Chaplain. Additionally, ensure the area is clean, and equipment is taken down and stored securely (on-site, government storage provided) after services and practices are complete. Have a working knowledge of the audio-visual equipment.

Equipment used on a regular basis includes speakers, microphones, sound boards, mixers, PCs, and projectors.

Lead the Praise Team and congregation in singing during special services, holidays, rehearsals, and other Chapel events.

Includes but is not limited to funeral and memorial services for the Joint Base Andrews Chapel when requested and available.

Submit song selections to the Protestant Chaplain, who makes the final determination of music provided during worship services. Sort and file all service worship sheet music. Ensure the cohesion of the music by being able to maintain a professional attitude and environment. Work with chapel staff to ensure all performances, rehearsals, and reproductions of music are IAW-established Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI). Provide for the ongoing recruitment of praise team members. Be willing and able to accept new volunteers and train said volunteers fo involvement in chapel worship services. Be accountable for opening and securing any facilities used for rehearsal, worship service, or other activities if a Religious Affairs Airman or Chaplain is unavailable. Be accountable for the security and cleanliness of all facilities utilized with programs. Work amicably with Service Chaplain, chapel staff, choir members, and musicians. Must be able to operate in and be fully conversant in the religiously pluralistic environment of military chaplaincy. Education and Experience:

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in military chapels is preferred. Experience in solid oral and written communication skills and be able to work with various chapel committees and diverse religious groups. Community Service Praise Team Director shall be familiar with the Protestant calendar and appropriate music. Experience coordinating music for Protestant Worship that includes weekly services and/or events ranging from gospel to contemporary genres. Two (2) years musical training or possess two (2) years or more as a musician in a church or chapel setting. Play guitar, keyboard, or piano, and be comfortable leading/singing. Capable of sight-reading music. Additional Requirements
