Our client is a private investment firm launching a new dedicated fund focused on growth capital investments in applied artificial intelligence businesses.
Since inception in 2015, the firm has partnered with its network of investors to deploy approximately $800 million in capital across a wide range of middle-market companies.
The firm’s new AI-focused fund is led by one of its Capital Partners with deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence and will target companies applying AI to transform industries the firm has otherwise invested in, such as technology, consumer, and business services. The fund will make post-seed growth capital investments in revenue-generating businesses to accelerate growth, professionalize operations, and scale into category-leading businesses.
The Role This is a unique opportunity to help build a differentiated growth equity platform at the intersection of private capital and next-generation AI innovation. The role offers exposure to the entire investment lifecycle, including sourcing, diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio value creation.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting all stages of deal execution: industry research, financial modeling, investment due diligence, competitive landscape analysis, and drafting Investment Committee materials
Engaging directly with management teams of AI-enabled businesses and participating in portfolio strategy discussions
Thematic research and sourcing efforts around high-potential applied AI end-markets and use cases
Preparing financial analyses and scenario models tailored to growth equity structures
Collaborating with the team to manage existing portfolio companies, analyze KPIs, and track market developments
Supporting fundraising and investor relations activities for the AI-focused fund
Qualifications
2–4 years of work experience in Investment Banking, Growth Equity, Venture Capital, or Private Equity
Demonstrated interest in applied AI, machine learning, enterprise software, or technology-enabled business models through professional experience or independent initiatives
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with tools like Pitchbook, CapIQ, and other industry specific research sources
Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset; ability to source deals and frame investment theses proactively
Professional maturity to interact with management teams, founders, and investors in the AI ecosystem
Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills with acute attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
