Job Description Arizona State University (ASU) Sun Devil Athletics Corporate Partnerships is seeking a Senior Director, Strategic Brand Partnership Engagement to join our team. Our department leads sponsorship and partnership initiatives for Sun Devil Athletics, competing in the Big 12 Conference and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). In close coordination with athletics senior leadership, we manage all aspects of corporate partnerships and strategic alliances – connecting brands with one of the most loyal and passionate collegiate sports fan bases, while aligning with the broader university community. The Senior Director will serve as a key strategic leader responsible for driving corporate engagement and developing innovative, revenue‑generating partnerships that advance the strategic objectives of Sun Devil Athletics and ASU.

Essential Duties

Leverage strategic partnership analytics and insights to identify industry trends and drive new business engagements and strategic alliances.

Partner with stakeholders to gather, interpret, and present KPI metrics that support data‑driven planning and execution.

Conduct business analysis using CRM systems and third‑party research tools to identify opportunities and optimize client engagement.

Monitor evolving digital media platforms and create data‑driven social media strategies that strengthen audience reach and engagement.

Manage and execute name, image, and likeness (NIL), brand ambassador, and athlete endorsement initiatives to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans to meet and exceed annual financial and partnership growth goals.

Secure high‑value, multi‑year partnership investments, including multi‑six and seven‑figure deals, with high‑profile regional and national brands.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing business development team, fostering a collaborative and results‑driven culture.

Drive new business opportunities across athletic department multi‑media assets and university‑wide partnership initiatives.

Maintain and grow strong relationships with both current and prospective partners to ensure long‑term satisfaction and success.

Collaborate with the Senior Associate AD to meet or exceed departmental revenue targets and stated goals.

Ensure consistent and transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders, and cross‑functional team members to optimize partnership performance.

Partner closely with the Business Insights and Activation teams to ensure delivery of contracted assets and fulfillment excellence through quantitative data analysis.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed for events or partner engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

Ten (10) years of comprehensive business strategic brand engagement and development experience, specifically in partnerships with teams or with brands.

Experience in strategic partnership analytics and insights used to identify industry trends to drive net new engagements.

Proven ability to compile, process, organize, and communicate metrics related to key performance indicators.

Proficiency in CRM software and third‑party research software for business analytics.

Extensive knowledge related to emerging digital media platforms and proficiency in developing social media strategies.

Name, image, and likeness (NIL), brand ambassador, and athlete endorsement experience.

Familiarity with the Arizona market and local business community.

Experience working with regional and national high‑profile brands.

Prior experience in collegiate or professional sports.

Experience training a business development team.

Experience working within a higher education environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proven ability to identify partner objectives and develop integrated marketing solutions aligned with both athletics and university assets.

Strong understanding of digital marketing performance analytics across platforms such as social media, mobile, and web.

Knowledge of key media assets including signage, TV, radio, social, digital, and print.

Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining long‑term corporate relationships and driving impact.

Strategic thinker with experience crafting and executing both short‑ and long‑term business development and strategic plans.

Effective team leader with experience hiring, training, motivating, and retaining high‑performing professionals.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong problem‑solving abilities, integrity, and professionalism.

Working knowledge of NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and NCHC rules and regulations.
