Fund Accounting Manager – $5B+ AUM Venture Capital Firm
Location:
Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office) Compensation:
$140,000–$160,000 base + ~20% bonus
About the Firm A leading global venture capital firm with over $5 billion in assets under management is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to join its growing finance team. With a 50+ year track record of investing in groundbreaking healthcare and technology companies, the firm has backed hundreds of high-growth businesses.
The Opportunity This newly created role will report directly to the Senior Director of Finance and play a key part in supporting fund operations and financial reporting for the firm’s expanding portfolio. The position offers exposure to complex fund structures, investment valuations, and senior leadership across finance and investment teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee quarterly and annual fund accounting activities, including reviewing general ledgers, journal entries, management fees, partner capital statements, and financial reports.
Prepare capital calls, distributions, and fund-level cash flow models in accordance with partnership agreements.
Participate in quarterly valuation processes and assist with preparation of valuation memos.
Support fund performance reporting, audits, and custodial reconciliations.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
6+ years of accounting or audit experience, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or fund accounting.
Strong technical foundation and understanding of investment valuation.
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
