Experienced Pump Technician We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pump Technician who has extensive experience in the disassembly, assessment, and re-assembly of various engineered rotating equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse pump types including, but not limited to, radially split, multi-stage, and high-energy pumps. Familiarity with other rotating equipment, such as reciprocating pumps, steam turbines, and gear boxes, is considered an advantage. Field service work may also be required. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret detailed engineered component drawings. Prepare thorough inspection reports and summarize equipment conditions with repair recommendations. Analyze and deduce potential causes for equipment failures (e.g., flashing, vibration issues, improper alignment). Inspect and assess the condition of cast and machined pump components and make decisions regarding repair, replacement, or re-use. Utilize precision measuring instruments accurately to 0.0005" tolerances. Operate various tools and equipment including hydraulic torque wrenches, pullers, torches, forklifts, and overhead cranes. Understand and apply technical documentation, policies, and safety procedures effectively. Conduct air and hydro-testing on equipment, ensuring safety and compliance. Identify workplace hazards and adhere to safety practices. Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and customers effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S guidelines. Lead and mentor fellow mechanics in equipment disassembly and reassembly processes. Qualifications and Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant trade school certification or equivalent experience is required. Candidates should have 3-5 years of pump mechanic experience and a total of 5+ years in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge: Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal. Expert knowledge in handling various tools and ability to disassemble, inspect, and assemble pumps is crucial. A solid understanding of safety policies, quality control, and teamwork is essential. Reliable attendance and readiness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays may be necessary. Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs and possess good hand/eye coordination, as well as manual dexterity. The position involves bending, kneeling, squatting, and twisting as needed.
