Security Officer - Government Access Control Patrols

Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a government location by conducting routine patrols and remaining visibly present to help deter security‑related incidents. Responsibilities include monitoring assigned areas, supporting access control measures, and offering exceptional customer service. What You’ll Do
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activities and/or incidents.
Observe and report any suspicious activity, security‑related hazards, or breaches of policy as required by Allied Universal procedures.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while on patrol.
Assist in maintaining order within the location, especially during incidents or emergencies.
Document all incidents and/or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
Minimum Requirements
At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
