Beacon Biosignals
Beacon Biosignals is on a mission to revolutionize precision medicine for the brain. We are the leading at‑home EEG platform supporting clinical development of novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders. Our FDA 510(k)‑cleared Waveband EEG headband and AI algorithms enable quantitative biomarker discovery and implementation. Beacon’s Clinico‑EEG database contains EEG data from nearly 100,000 patients, and our cloud‑native analytics platform powers large‑scale RWD/RWE retrospective and predictive studies.
Beacon Biosignals is seeking an experienced data analytics engineer to strengthen our analytics layer and accelerate advancements in clinical diagnostics and therapies designed to improve brain health. As a member of the Analytics Suites Team, you’ll design and maintain canonical data representations and automated data pipelines that power our scientific products, from automated scientific reports to interactive dashboards. You’ll also help develop and monitor the team’s automated biosignal processing pipelines that generate the analytics layer inputs. This is a product‑oriented role – you'll work alongside engineers, product managers, scientists, and clinicians to turn scientific questions into robust, versioned data products.
Why this role?
Your work will transform biosignals, derived metrics, and clinical metadata into trusted, versioned analytics products that enable reproducible scientific results at scale, empowering scientists and clinicians to advance therapy development and expedite patient diagnosis.
Beacon’s robust asynchronous work practices ensure a first‑class remote work experience. We also have in‑person office hubs located in Boston, New York City, and Paris.
What success looks like
Design, implement, and maintain data models and transformations that enrich biosignal metrics with clinical context, powered by Beacon’s biosignal data warehouse
Ensure that data pipelines and products produce reproducible results by owning CI test suites and versioning strategies for data models, dashboards, and reports
Build reusable, scalable customer‑facing analytics products, such as automated scientific reports and dashboards that can be configured and reused without custom engineering
Improve user documentation and tooling to enable customers and internal scientists to use the analytics layer surface to answer new scientific questions
Deploy and monitor analytics and feature computation services that transform raw biosignal data and clinical metadata to generate meaningful scientific results
Collaborate with scientific subject matter experts, product managers, and customers to identify high‑impact analytics improvements that accelerate therapy development
What you will bring
Extensive experience developing, testing, and maintaining SQL transformations to deliver reproducible analytic results in a production setting atop data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
Experience with dbt is a strong plus, but not required – we welcome candidates who are eager to learn
Proficiency in a scientific programming language such as Julia, Python, or R
A rigorous approach to documentation and automated testing
Experience deploying automated analytics pipelines to a production environment, monitoring their performance, and maintaining them over time
A collaborative mindset – you’re excited to work closely with multiple teams to achieve Beacon’s analytics product goals
Strong asynchronous communication skills and a knack for making the most of synchronous collaboration
Product‑oriented intuition for turning individual stakeholder needs into configurable solutions and broadly applicable features
Familiarity with or interest in learning about analyses that power clinical trials, clinical diagnostics, or other medical applications that leverage data organization, transformation, and statistics
The base salary range for this role is determined based on past experience, specific skills and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes equity, PTO and other benefits.
At Beacon, we believe a diverse team builds more robust systems and achieves higher impact. As set forth in Beacon Biosignals’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected group status under any applicable law.
