Education/Certification

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in either elementary or secondary education

Major Responsibilities and Duties (Assessment, Data, and Compliance):

Assessment Administration and Security

1. Direct and oversee the implementation and monitoring of testing activities to ensure that procedures are followed and deadlines met. This includes performing a variety of professional, supervisory, technical, and administrative tasks in order to direct the administration of local, state, and national standardized testing of students in the school system.

2. Develop and implement procedures for ensuring security and confidentiality of state-mandated testing programs and other assessments.

3. Coordinate a wide range of assessments at the district and/or campus level, including STAAR, EOC tests, TELPAS, check-ins, SAT, PSAT, ACT, and AP exams.

4. Organize logistics for scheduling and conducting all testing in the district/campus, including staffing, distribution, and security.

5. Provide timely support for campus testing administrators and AP test coordinators.

6. Supervise assessments and troubleshoot problems that arise before, during, and after testing.

7. Identify, investigate, and address testing irregularities; report discrepancies and disciplinary actions taken against students and/or teachers and staff.

8. Consult with staff to provide appropriate testing accommodations for Emergent Bilingual (EB) students and students receiving special services.

9. Coordinate in development of short- and long-term planning for testing administration.

10. Coordinate campus Section 504 processes, including referrals, evaluations, accommodations, compliance records and timelines, and staff/parent collaboration.

11. Lead campus MTSS implementation through data reviews, intervention planning, progress monitoring, and alignment of academic and behavioral supports.

Recordkeeping, Inventory, and Reporting

12. Manage all facets of testing materials, including storage, security, inventory, ordering, delivery, pickup, scanning, scoring, pre-coding, return, and test disposal.

13. Develop, implement, and maintain an inventory system to track and monitor location of test materials throughout the distribution, return, and storage process.

14. Maintain and ensure integrity of testing data and ensure all materials and data are submitted within established timelines.

15. Compile, maintain, file, and secure all reports, records, and other required documents.

16. Complete evaluation and compliance reports as required by federal and state programs.

17. Communicate all assessment dates and changes to the assessment calendar to appropriate individuals and maintain up-to-date assessment information on the district website.

18. Operate state-developed software to support the testing program.

Instructional Management and Data Analysis

19. Work with instructional teams to analyze test data and develop student achievement goals and objectives.

20. Provide test results and consultation regarding the interpretation of test results in order to improve student achievement.

21. Evaluate assessment programs and collaborate with campus testing coordinators on areas to improve based on assessment data analysis.

22. Monitor students who need intervention and work with staff (assistant principals, counselors, and teachers) to provide resources and develop plans to meet the needs of these students.

23. Participate in the establishment of guidelines in the utilization of appropriate data for screening and placement of students in special programs, such as Title I, and programs for students with exceptional needs.

Training and Professional Development

24. Provide appropriate training regarding test administration requirements for school audiences, including training the principal and staff to serve as proctors and facilitators prior to each assessment.

25. Assist in providing professional development in new procedures or systems through in-service and conferences that meet the needs of coordinators and teachers in the assessment.

26. Participate in appropriate conferences, staff development opportunities, and state/regional meetings for improved job performance.

27. Improve leadership skills through self-initiated professional activities and maintain active involvement in local, regional, state, and national professional organizations as needed for collaboration and program improvement.

29. Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of rules, regulations, and practices.

31. Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent.

32. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

33. Must be present regularly in person.
