The
Richmond Behavioral Health Authority
is seeking a full time
Clinician I/II
to provide clinical services to youth temporarily detained at the local Juvenile Detention Center. The successful candidate will direct behavioral healthcare services to identified adolescents, to include assessment, treatment planning, prevention, case management and release planning, therapy/counseling, record/file maintenance, report preparation and related work as necessary or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor and will work collaboratively with detention, juvenile justice, and probationary staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor II.
Essential Functions
Provides individual, family and group counseling; implements treatment plans; coordinates daily treatment schedule.
Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups.
Monitors and manages an assigned caseload of detained and/or court-involved youth.
Provides crisis response/crisis intervention services to detained youth.
Develops and maintains administrative and clinical files; prepares various reports and case related correspondence.
Provides consultation, education, and prevention services.
Participates in clinical, administrative and supervisory meetings; collaborates with other staff members concerning cases.
Performs intakes, client assessments and diagnostic interviews, and develops and writes comprehensive intake and diagnostic summaries and reports; conducts mental health assessment and monitors level of functioning.
Provides detention staff training on areas directly related to mental health services, upon request of RJDC administration and approval of/oversight by RBHA supervisor.
Participates on multi-disciplinary teams related to the provision of mental health services in the detention center.
Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.
Attends court proceedings as needed to update the court on the participant's progress and/or case status.
Performs other clinician level tasks for the Child and Family Mental Health Division as required.
Position Requirements
Education
This position will require a master's degree with coursework in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field and moderate experience working with clients with behavioral health disorders and/or developmental disabilities in a behavioral health care or hospital setting.
License eligible required.
Experience working with adolescents with significant social and behavioral impairment preferred.
Qualifying staff will be eligible for a $4K sign-on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign-on bonus policy.
Special Requirements
Valid VA Driver's License Required.
