Full-Time, 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Pay Range:
$19.00- $20.50 per hour, DOE
What You'll Do: The Impact You'll Make As a Resident Aide, you will provide professional, compassionate, and safe overnight support to residents in the ODR Interim Housing program. You will ensure the security and well-being of all residents during the night while maintaining a clean, calm, and welcoming environment that reflects Alcott's trauma-informed and harm-reduction principles.
Resident Support & Overnight Care • Respond promptly and compassionately to resident needs and emergencies. • Monitor residents and facility conditions through regular overnight rounds. • Support residents in maintaining independence and personal responsibility. • Assist with early-morning activities, meal preparation, and program routines. • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Monitoring & Safety • Ensure the safety and security of residents and property during overnight hours. • Keep all rooms, restrooms, laundry areas, and hallways clean, disinfected, and hazard-free. • Report and document all incidents, emergencies, or unusual occurrences promptly. • Maintain awareness of program rules and support residents in adhering to guidelines.
Documentation & Communication • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and daily communication notes accurately. • Provide clear and detailed handoffs to oncoming staff and supervisors. • Support the Program Manager in ensuring consistent communication across shifts.
Administrative & Facility Support • Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist with administrative tasks as assigned. • Monitor and record resident self-administration of prescribed medications. • Support staff with facility operations, meetings, and recreational activities as needed.
What You'll Bring: Your Qualifications
Education and Experience • High School diploma or GED required. • Minimum one (1) year of experience in mental health, substance use treatment, or social services supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. • Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply. • If in recovery, must have at least one (1) year of continuous sobriety.
Skills and Abilities • Calm and professional demeanor under pressure or in crisis situations. • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. • Consistent, dependable, and compassionate approach to resident care. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems.
Licenses and Requirements • Valid California Driver's License, clean driving record, and insurability under agency policy (if driving is required). • Successful Live Scan background clearance. • Current CPR certification preferred. • Military-experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. • Alcott follows Fair Chance hiring practices during the background check process.
