Position Summary:
We are seeking a
Project Safety Manager
to join an industrial construction project in Pasadena, TX. This short-term assignment (2–3 months) requires a safety professional who is comfortable
in the field , actively leading and coaching crews, contractors, and project leadership on safe work practices. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in industrial construction, a proactive approach to risk management, and a proven ability to drive a strong safety culture across complex job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead field-level implementation of the site Health & Safety Management System.
Apply Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles and High Potential Exposure (HPE) mitigation strategies.
Coach and onboard company staff, contractor teams, and trade partners to align with safety priorities.
Review and align contractor procedures with company safety policies and OSHA CFR 1926 requirements.
Support Prevention through Design (PtD) and Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention initiatives.
Oversee monthly safety metrics, audits, incident tracking, and compliance reporting.
Deliver safety leadership training to field leaders, construction management, and contractor supervisors.
Collaborate with project leadership, plant operations, and contractors to ensure aligned performance expectations.
Drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices across the site.
Serve as a liaison between field crews and project management to promote open safety communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field .
Minimum
10 years
of Health & Safety experience, with
5 years
in field safety leadership on industrial construction sites.
Professional safety certifications (CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent) .
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards (CFR 1926), risk management, and contractor oversight.
Experience with large-scale CAPEX industrial projects, including heavy civil, structural, mechanical, and commissioning activities.
Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments and deliver results with limited supervision.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Field-based position on an active industrial construction site.
Must be able to walk, stand, climb, and inspect high-risk areas and varying weather conditions.
PPE required; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
