Job Summary Canopy by Hilton, a beautiful modern boutique hotel located in downtown Grand Rapids, is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and guest-focused individual to join our team as a full-time Night Auditor. In this role, you will assist with overnight audits, hotel guest services, and overnight valet operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a quiet, independent work environment and enjoys delivering top‑tier guest service.

Essential Job Functions

Perform guest registrations (check‑ins and check‑outs), room assignments, and special requests.

Have knowledge of daily hotel operations, policies, procedures, and internal rules.

Understand the brand’s operating systems and customer loyalty programs.

Know guest rooms, locations, amenities, features, and all other services offered.

Understand room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions.

Ensure proper credit when checking out guests and handle late charges accordingly.

Know cash handling and bank procedures to check out all guests.

Bank out at end of shift by following drop procedures.

Email daily reports to accounting office.

Answer phones, handle mail, and take messages.

Assist guests with problems and questions; ensure all guest problems are resolved.

Know the city, local area, and attractions.

Utilize spare time for cleaning (front desk, back office, common areas) and maintaining sidewalks and front entry.

Know all emergency procedures and the proper action to take.

Operate safe deposit boxes.

Inspect conference rooms, common areas and public restrooms to ensure cleanliness.

Perform security walks of the hotel.

Investigate and address noise/party issues.

Assist guests with overnight valet services, including parking and retrieving vehicles, assisting with luggage and adhering to all valet operating procedures.

Required / Preferred Education and Experience

1–2 years of hotel experience is a plus.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Valid driver’s license and safe driving record – satisfactory criminal background screening required – professional references.

Expected Hours of Work This position must be available during 3rd shift hours between 11 pm‑7 am.
