The Position Reporting organizationally to the Regional Venue Transport Manager, the Venue Transport Manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Transport team, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA26 Operational Services team. The Venue Transport Manager is responsible for the conceptual and operational planning as well as overseeing all Transportation Operations rendered to FIFA Constituents at the official FIFA World Cup 2026 stadiums. This position is also responsible for building, training and motivating the venue operations team of paid staff, contractors and volunteers, during the FWC 2026 project. The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter and multitasker who works well under pressure and follows through on tasks.
Responsibilities
Responsible for cost effective and efficient venue transport operations
Perform traffic analysis to ensure proposed plans are tested
Coordinate with key stakeholders and Transport Integration team to obtain appropriate agreements and approvals
Coordinate with all FIFA26 Constituent Groups and transport systems to ensure plans are developed to fit within overall transport proposals
Work closely with Host City teams to coordinate FIFA Constituent Group transport provisions and access to/from stadium and venues
Work closely with Security to ensure transport plans are coordinated with the security provisions
Prepare risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies
Liaise extensively with bus operations staff and fleet operations staff to ensure a successful transportation operation
Work with chosen suppliers/contractors within the various parking/traffic management/load zone locations
Work closely with Host City and contribute to the development of Local Area Traffic Management Plans
Management of transport information desks and supervising all volunteer and staff needs on site
Responsible for management of VAPP boards and transport load zones at each venue
Responsible for placement, control and storage of transport related FF&E
Qualifications Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business administration, management, leadership, entrepreneurship)
Postgraduate Education focusing on International Organizations or Sport Management preferred, but not required
Willingness to work outside core working hours (online workshops accommodating different time zones)
Willingness to travel
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years Transport work experience: ideally within the football, sport, event or three (3) years of experience as a Venue Transport Manager, or three (3) years equivalent management position
Experience in interviewing employees regarding accidents, complaints, grievances, and disciplinary actions
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from support staff, managers, and clients. The individual must be motivated, capable of working independently, with excellent written and oral communication skills
Venue, sites and facilities operation experience within at least one mega project event, ideally more than one world class sport event (e.g. FIFA World Cup and / or Olympic Games, Regional Football Tournaments, etc.)
Experience working with public and private sector partners in a collaborative environment and ability to build strong partnerships
Basic knowledge of transit operations involved in moving FIFA Constituents by vehicles, including city layout
Intermediate knowledge of administration and management principles
Languages
Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
Technology
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
