Board Relations Representative

National Heritage Academies (NHA) is seeking a highly relational, detail-oriented individual to maintain relationships with school boards to ensure strong alignment and partnership between the Board and NHA. The Board Relations Representative will serve as the Board's NHA liaison, build and maintain relationships, communicate with key stakeholders, provide and present on company information and school performance data, and assist with the charter renewal process. National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Founded in 1995, today NHA serves over 100 schools in nine states, with more than 65,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison among school Boards, charter authorizers, and NHA. Develop and maintain strong, professional, and task-driven relationships with partner Boards, authorizer representatives, board attorneys, school personnel, and Service Center colleagues. Maintain current knowledge of and skills with team and company processes, procedures, and tools including the Board Portal, Partner Portal, Power Apps, myNHA, and Oracle. Assist the Board President with the creation of meeting agendas. Prepare school principals for board meetings and support their relationship and success with their Board. Prepare for and attend board meetings, record and submit accurate meeting minutes, and take necessary action on follow-up items. Present at Board Meetings on company and school information including performance data, operational practices, financial reports, and state and federal compliance information. Monitor and communicate information regarding board fund requests and the board funds budget. Monitor compliance reporting and assist Boards with compliance tasks and issues. Learn and maintain current knowledge of all key documents that drive the relationship between NHA and its partner Boards, including the charter contract, the services agreement, the lease agreement, the school bylaws, school budgets, school policies, any corrective action plans, and other documents as necessary. Assist in the charter renewal process for assigned schools by coordinating activities and assuring school Boards are prepared for renewal visits. Assist the Board in recruiting replacement Board Members as needed. Work collaboratively with the NHA Board Coordinator Team and other Service Center teammates. Travel to board meetings. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; preferred in Business, Marketing, Communications, Education, or an equivalent focus of study. 3+ years of experience managing key business, customer, and/or government relations. Strong interest in charter schools and educational reform. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including being comfortable with and effective in public speaking and difficult conversations. Detail-oriented with strong time management, customer service, and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in team environments. Willingness to travel as needed. Strong relationship-building, communication, and organization skills are essential to success in the role.
