The Cardiopulmonary Supervisor is responsible for directing the day-to-day clinical activities of the Service. Position may also be subject to assuming general floor coverage as required. Principal Responsibilities

Administer Oxygen Therapy via the various devices available on a daily basis. Administer Aerosol Therapy via the various devices available on a daily basis. Administer Airway Pressure Therapy on a weekly basis. Instruct patient and set up Incentive Breathing Device on a daily basis. Perform Chest Percussion and Postural Drainage by hand manipulation or mechanical percussor on a daily basis. Obtain accurate Arterial Oxygen Saturation reading via Pulse Oximetry on a daily basis. Observe routine change-out policy for disposable items on a daily basis. Observe cleaning and sterilization procedure as required. Setup and Operate Mechanical Ventilators on a daily basis. Setup and Operate Suction Regulator and Suction Cannister on a weekly basis. Suction patients airway via ETT, Tracheostomy, or NT using aseptic technique. Conduct Ventilator Checks at regular intervals assuring all relevant information is recorded on a daily basis. Respond to Code Leos and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required. Setup and initiate Noninvasive Ventilation via BIPAP system on an as-required basis. Obtain arterial blood sample via arterial puncture or arterial line on a daily basis. Perform Arterial Blood Gas analysis via GEM Lab 3500 analyzer. Perform Basic Spirometry via portable Spirometer on an as-required basis. Obtain good quality EKG tracing via either Philips or GE EKG systems on a daily basis. Recognize basic arrhythmias, ectopic origin and ischemia versus injury patterns as required. Initiate and/or complete documentation via Interdisciplinary forms on a daily basis. Review chart to verify order validity and accuracy prior to initiating care on a daily basis. Document all rounds in an expeditious manner on the appropriate forms and place in the notebook in server outside patients room on a daily basis. Complete documentation and related charges in Meditech in a thorough and expeditious manner on a daily basis. Assign tasks and direct the workflow of Respiratory Personnel as required. Provide Departmental Orientation for new employees. Develop departmental work schedule assuring minimal coverage guidelines are met on a monthly basis. Develop and update Departmental Policies and Procedures as required. Assure adequate disposable supplies are available and practice prudent inventory control. Complete and submit Performance Evaluations in a timely manner. Maintain and document QA/QC activities on a regular basis. Practice the concept of Continuous Quality Improvement and assure that staff know procedure for initiating their improvement ideas and provide follow-up. Demonstrate understanding of HCAs and Patients First safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. Perform other related duties as directed or required. What Qualifications You Will Need

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Basic Cardiac Life Support PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner Associate Degree 5 years of clinical experience in Acute Care Setting St. Davids South Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. Davids HealthCare, is a 368-bed acute care facility offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties.
