Description Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, using both standardized assessments and keen observational skills. Craft tailored treatment plans designed to meet immediate goals while supporting long-term communication and swallowing needs. Engage with individuals through one-on-one therapeutic interventions, focusing on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members, to create integrated care pathways. Provide education for patients and their families, empowering them to continue progress outside of your clinical sessions. Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain holistic care throughout patients' recovery journeys. Ensure documentation is meticulously crafted and adheres to all regulatory guidelines. Advance your expertise through continuous education and collaborative work with your colleagues. Education
Earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is a prerequisite for those not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Valid state licensure as a
Speech Language Pathologist . Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment. Skills
Mastery of evidence-informed treatment strategies beneficial for all age groups, paired with an extensive understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and a broad care team. Adept at modifying therapeutic approaches to respect and accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical judgement complemented by strategic problem-solving capabilities.
