Overview
The Buyer serves in the purchase of raw materials, finished components, MRO supplies, tools, and services. This role is primarily tactical and hands-on, focusing on day-to-day purchasing operations while supporting planning and scheduling teams to meet production and customer delivery requirements. In addition to purchasing activities, the Buyer assists with analyzing and scheduling materials using MRP and APS systems, manages supplier relationships, and supports cost-reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of procurement experience, ERP/MRP proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Purchase raw materials, components, and services; negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery; maintain supplier relationships; resolve issues; monitor performance; and ensure ISO quality compliance. Planning & Scheduling
Use APS and MRP systems to analyze material needs, issue purchase orders, and maintain optimal inventory levels aligned with production schedules and forecasts. Strategic Sourcing & Continuous Improvement
Identify and qualify new suppliers, support cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and evaluate supplier quotations for best overall value. Reporting & Policy Development
Track cost variances, prepare market and supplier performance reports, and recommend updates to purchasing policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and supplier relations. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Experience:
3–5 years of procurement, supply chain, or purchasing experience (manufacturing environment preferred). Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in
MS Word, Excel, Outlook, BPCS, APS , and
Internet research . Experience with
ERP and MRP systems
( SAP
strongly preferred). Employment details
