Description
Primary Purpose and Function: The primary purpose of this position is to rebuild spindle units to OEM specifications.
Responsibilities: Disassemble spindle units and report on suspected failure Clean parts and bearings for unit assembly Maintain work order, pull inventory for assembly, and document findings Assemble spindle and balance spindle sub-assembly Balance assembled spindles and run test Prepare final inspection report and crate the spindle unit Help maintain a clean and safe working environment (5S) Support process improvements Work with other departments to solve problems
Qualifications
Qualifications: 3-5 years of precision mechanical assembly Strong mechanical aptitude and ability Able to read mechanical assembly and parts drawings Proficient use of mechanical measuring equipment such as caliper and dial indicators Strong attention to detail and capable of solving assembly issues Must work well independently as well as on a team Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
Preferred: Ability to operate forklift and crane Machine maintenance or previous mechanical assembly/rebuilding experience Experienced in bearing nomenclature/preload calculations, vibration analysis, and balancing principles
