Responsibilities The Lead Clinician is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the Clinical Director, and assisting in the management functions at the facility. This includes supporting and reinforcing company‑wide initiatives such as innovative technologies and promoting clinical efficiency for best practices.
Core Job Duties
Assist the Clinical Director in developing effective clinical programming and ensuring staff compliance with the curriculum.
Assist the Clinical Director with proficiently auditing and completing documentation within required timeframes to ensure compliance with company policy, state regulations, Joint Commission standards, and Medical Needs Criteria. This includes:
Biopsychosocial Assessment and Integrated Summary (72 hours)
Comprehensive Problem List
Integrated Master Treatment Plan and Updates (24–72 hours based on payer)
ASAMs (24 hours, based on state standards)
Individual, family, and group therapy session notes (24 hours)
Discharge Summary (72 hours)
Use substance abuse and co‑occurring therapeutic interventions and de‑escalation techniques to assist patients with accomplishing all treatment plans goals and objectives and successfully completing treatment.
Assist the Clinical Director with regularly monitoring group therapy sessions to ensure quality programming is delivered and to ensure compliance with the program curriculum.
Assess patients for substance use disorders, risk to self or others, and co‑occurring mental health disorders.
Effectively provide group therapy.
Effectively provide caseload management.
Maintain an 80% caseload expectation; cover caseload and group assignments from clinical team members.
Provide coaching and mentoring to clinicians.
Review and sign off on documentation as directed by the Clinical Director.
Participate in crisis intervention with patients as needed.
Participate with multidisciplinary team as needed.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Education
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related human services field.
Credentials
Independently licensed in the State of Florida (Florida) in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or other behavioral health related fields.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the mental health field.
Knowledge & Training Requirements
Demonstrates proficiency in communication & written skills.
Knowledge of state & federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws.
Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards.
Proficient in electronic medical records utilizing HeatherAI.
Proficient in documenting medical standards per ASAM and Locus criteria.
