Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who builds, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs large industrial automated equipment with a strong emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems. They should be able to maintain proficiency in applicable software formats used for diagnostics and control systems while also providing direct support to engineering teams, particularly in the integration and optimization of large mechanical structures. This role requires experience working with large mechanical assemblies such as aircraft, marine vessels, wind energy systems, or other large electromechanical industrial equipment. Candidates must have demonstrated proficiency in both electrical wiring and mechanical assembly and be forklift and crane certified to safely oversee heavy component assembly. Requirements: Follow safety practices (awareness of different rules for different work areas). Follow PPE requirements and function as a champion for safety within your department. Demonstrate an elevated level of detail. Exhibit knowledge and understanding of Quality practices and highlight them in your work. Possess an acumen to identify discrepancies in documentation and products. Firsthand large industrial equipment assembly experience with ability partner with Sustaining Engineering in efforts to redesign/troubleshoot and validate product. Sufficiently cross trained on multiple assemblies. Capability to comprehend and follow work instructions, build to blueprints, schematics, or drawings with little to no supervision. Willing and able to commit to be an integral part of a successful team. Daily interaction with Instron Business Systems (IFS, Agile, Testing Software). Regular interactions with Engineering to aid in troubleshooting issues, updating work instructions, etc. Engaging with Purchasing and Quality when needed for part issues or non-conformities. Requirements: Minimum of an associate's degree or technical training certification. At least three years of direct experience in a relevant field. Strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components, and automated equipment is required. Experience with large-scale mechanical structures and heavy equipment handling is required. Forklift and crane operation certification is preferred (but will train). Familiarity with safety compliance documentation and procedures is required. Reading, writing, and conversing in English required Compensation Information: This position has a starting salary range of $22.00 to $24.50 per hour.
