We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team at our Nationwide Aerospace Manufacturing Company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of our aerospace components through the use of all quality instruments and other advanced inspection techniques. This position requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, CMM operation, and a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Key Responsibilities
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine inspection requirements
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformance
Experience with all quality instrumentation (Micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc)
Develop and implement CMM inspection programs for various aerospace components
Perform first article inspections and generate detailed reports
Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
Identify and document non-conformances, defects, or quality issues
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality-related issues
Maintain accurate inspection records and generate comprehensive quality reports
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and efficiency
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in aerospace quality control
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality management systems
Perform calibration and verification of measuring equipment as required
Contribute to the development and improvement of quality control procedures and work instructions
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in the aerospace industry
Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is a big plus.
Expert knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applications
Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality control standards
Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar platforms (is a big plus)
In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality management systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software
