About the Opportunity The role functions as a technical specialist, supervising multi‑discipline engineering staff on medium to high‑complexity projects and providing key technical guidance across the organization. The successful candidate will be a recognized reference for engineering guidance through depth and breadth of knowledge, and will influence scope of responsibilities within BV Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies; own, maintain, update, or develop engineering standards and guides.

Apply knowledge and ensure compliance with B&V quality program, establish related processes, and promote a culture conducive to quality and continuous improvement.

Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects, perform complex research, and develop recommendations for equipment and/or material selection.

Prepare complex engineering calculations, manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements, and apply advanced engineering solutions to complex problems.

Provide technical guidance to project teams, review lower‑level engineering work, and coordinate with internal/external team members on complex projects.

Define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines and identify key client interests and drivers, communicating them to the project team.

Support business development and pursuit activities by identifying future client needs and positioning B&V for the future.

Act as the technical specialist in a broad or specialized area, supporting multiple complex technical challenges and driving discipline‑specific engineering processes.

Oversee performance management, career planning, and mentoring for lower‑ and mid‑level professionals.

Management Responsibilities Supervise work of others, responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of subordinates.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong experience in 69kV to 500kV overhead transmission line design and expertise with Power Line system programs (PLS, PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE).

Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to the assigned engineering discipline.

Previous client interaction experience with solid relationship‑building abilities in pursuit of business opportunities.

Experience with the design of utility‑scale electrical transmission systems and structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations.

Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 11 years of related work experience.

Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.

Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screening.

Certifications Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.

Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options available after 90 days of employment. Positions may be located in any U.S. office. Some positions may be relocation eligible.

Compensation Annual compensation range: $173,429.00 - $344,788.00.
