About the Position
This position is located within Defense Health Agency Region Indo-Pacific within Warrior Ohana Medical Home, Department of Family Medicine in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Duties
Provides individual and group treatment.
Maintain appropriate documentation of patient care in accordance with current unit and hospital standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions.
Conduct a variety of outpatient group classes.
Participate in quality assurance activities.
Consult with primary care providers to select, approve, and document treatment priorities.
Serves as the authority on primary care psychology for the clinic.
Educate clinic staff on the principles of primary care behavioral health via trainings and briefings.
Provide evidenced-based individual treatment and psychoeducational classes for patients enrolled in primary care clinics.
Develop treatment processes and procedures for orientation of patients.
Execute performance initiatives (PI) through revision of clinical standards and procedures.
Work with primary care team to develop processes to increase same day “warm handoffs” of patients from the primary care provider to the Behavior Health Clinic.
Requirements
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
This position requires a valid unrestricted state license as a doctoral level Psychologist.
This position requires successful completion of Defense Health Agency Primary Care Behavioral Health Behavioral Health Consultant Competency Training within 3 months of hiring (unless HA is unable to provide training within 3 months).
