We are seeking an experienced Locums OB Hospitalist to provide high-quality obstetric care in South Bend, Indiana. This role offers 24‑hour in‑house coverage with the option for 12‑hour shifts, working alongside a dedicated team of Neonatologists, Maternal‑Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians, and Certified Nurse Midwives. The OB Hospitalist will provide care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including high‑risk cases, in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
Assignment Details
Shift Options: 24‑hour in‑house or 12‑hour shifts available Setting: Level III NICU and Level III Perinatal Center; Level II Trauma Center Delivery Suites: 10 birth sites; average 3 deliveries per 24‑hour shift Annual Deliveries: Approximately 2,000 Team Collaboration: Work with Pediatrix Neonatology, MFM physicians, and Certified Nurse Midwives Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive OB hospitalist care, including management of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients Collaborate with MFM physicians to manage high‑risk pregnancies Work with Certified Nurse Midwives to ensure coordinated and safe deliveries Coordinate care with Neonatology physicians to optimize neonatal outcomes Respond to obstetric emergencies and participate in maternal transport if needed Participate in teaching activities and other clinical programs associated with the OB Hospitalist service Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and communicate effectively with the care team Requirements
Board Certified in OB/GYN (Board Eligible not accepted) Active Indiana medical license or IMLC Compact eligibility Minimum of 1‑year post‑residency OB/GYN clinical experience South Bend is a vibrant city located along the St. Joseph River, offering a rich combination of urban amenities, cultural attractions, and outdoor recreation.
