Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery
Position located in Chesterfield, MO. Clinic-based position with no nights, weekends or on-call requirements. Schedule: 40 hours per week. Overview
Seeking a PA to join the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle team. The PA will primarily work in the Chesterfield office and the Center for Advanced Medicine, supporting a team of 3 surgeons and two NPs. Experience in orthopedics or podiatry is strongly preferred. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Performs physical assessments/examinations and counsels patients; obtains medical histories. Monitors patient adherence to protocols and coordinates screening for research studies. Collects and records data per research requirements; develops and implements adherence plans. Bills for professional services as permitted by the collaborative practice agreement. Interprets diagnostic test results and prescribes therapy or medications with physician approval. Orders or administers diagnostic tests (e.g., x-ray, ECG, labs) and performs therapeutic procedures (injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, infection management). Provides assistance to physicians during surgery or complex procedures. Maintains department policies, quality assurance, safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Current PA licensure to practice in Missouri and/or Illinois, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire; additional certifications as required by area of specialty. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Other certifications as specified (e.g., PA licensure from applicable state boards).
Preferred/Experience
Experience in orthopedics or podiatry preferred. No specific prior work experience required other than stated qualifications. Knowledge of Epic EHR and HIPAA compliance is desirable.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Patient care setting with standard protective equipment as needed.
Salary and Benefits
Salary range: $86,300.00 $155,500.00 annually (grade and individual rate determined by qualifications and department budget). Benefits include vacation, holidays, sick time, health insurance, transit benefits, retirement plan (403(b)), wellness programs, caregiver leave, and education/tuition support per policy. Additional Information
Current PA licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire; some certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
