As a Software Architect Sr within PNC's C&IB organization, you will be based either in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX or Little Rock, AR or Overland Park, KS. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. We are seeking a seasoned .Net Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex, enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically adept, and experienced in modern software engineering practices including containerization, CI/CD, event-driven systems, and microservices. You will play a critical role in mentoring developers, making key architectural decisions, and effectively communicating with both technical teams and C-level stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Architect scalable, resilient (Active/Active), and secure enterprise applications using .NET and modern frameworks. Lead the design and implementation of microservices architectures with strong domain-driven design principles. Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of production-ready services. Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, and integrate security into the pipeline (DevSecOps). Leverage Kafka for event streaming and MongoDB for scalable NoSQL data solutions. Design and manage RESTful APIs, and optionally GraphQL, with proper documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI. Collaborate with QA and support teams to ensure system integrity, performance, and scalability. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language for executive stakeholders. Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to development teams, promoting best practices and continuous improvement. Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to enhance platform quality and developer productivity. Lead legacy modernization efforts and integration strategies across enterprise systems. Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as ELK Stack. Required Skills & Experience: Proven ability to work with product owners, business analysts, and executive leadership to align technical solutions with business goals. Experience leading digital transformation initiatives and managing change across large organizations. Experience with legacy system modernization and enterprise integration patterns. Extensive experience in .NET development and architecture within enterprise environments. Proven track record designing and implementing microservices-based systems. Strong expertise with Docker, Jenkins, and uDeploy in production environments. Hands-on experience with Kafka (or similar event streaming technologies) and MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases). Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, and container orchestration. Deep knowledge of software security, performance optimization, and system scalability. Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, self-starter mindset. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms. Cloud architecture experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
