South Shore Conservatory Arts Specialist
South Shore Conservatory (SSC) is a community school for the arts on Boston's South Shore, welcoming individuals of all ages and abilities. The SSC ImagineARTS residency program works with pre-k students in the Brockton Public Schools, as well as the kindergarten and pre-k students in Rockland. The goal of ImagineARTS is to foster an early love of reading through the use of music, drama, and movement, and builds the capacity of their classroom teachers to implement arts-integrated methods across the curriculum. Provide an excellent learning experience using SSC's "Five Elements of Effective Teaching." Adaptability Differentiate lessons plans to accommodate a variety of learning styles and needs. Classroom/Group Management Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning so that all students can participate in a safe, respectful, and joyful manner. Communication Work with ImagineARTS Team and classroom teachers to execute effective lessons. Transformation Emphasize the skill-building while providing an opportunity to explore dynamic and meaningful social interactions. Investment, Inspiration, and Commitment Cultivate self-knowledge and identifications with the Arts by providing opportunities for students and teachers to explore, engage, and create. Experience in Special Education and Integrated Classrooms preferred. Essential Functions
Curriculum - Prepare lessons that are consistent with goals and outcomes of ImagineARTS program. Prepare the weekly lesson plans utilizing the ImagineARTS arts-integrated literacy curriculum. Adapt lessons to fit distinct needs of each class. Maintain inventory of provided books, visual aids, and props. Complete brief weekly summary for each classroom that outlines key successes as well as challenges or opportunities for improvement. Work with classroom teachers to increase their proficiency with arts-integration best practices. Manage changes in IA specialist schedule with the classroom teacher. Support Family Music Night. Provide feedback about curriculum and materials to ImagineARTS Manager as requested. Participate in onboarding in September. Schedule individual observation times with ImagineARTS Program Manager for winter and spring. SSC Team Meetings: ImagineARTS Arts Specialists will have a team meeting with the ImagineARTS Program Manager once a month. Classification

Hourly Schedule and Location
This position is in-person and is primarily located at school sites in the south shore with some travel to South Shore Conservatory's Hingham Campus (Hingham, MA), and to South Shore Conservatory's Duxbury Campus (Duxbury, MA) as needed, as well as occasional off-site travel required for concerts, meetings, and events. Group Rate for Teaching Hours - $58 Admin Rate for Meetings - $20 Admin Rate for Administrative Work to Prepare Lessons (1 hr/week) - $20 Mileage Reimbursement - paid at current IRS rate for any travel exceeding normal commute to campus
