Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel job id : 63045 Iowa Methodist Medical Center (UnityPoint Health - Des Moines) Location: Des Moines, Iowa 2025 Holidays Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays: Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving Time-Off Limitation: Only 1 day off allowed between 11/26/25–11/30/25 and 12/23/25–1/2/26 for all travelers, regardless of which holidays they work Unit Information Patient Types: See submission requirements Patient Ratios: 1:1 Bed Size: 16 Scrubs: Provided Average Caseload: 35–50 cases/day (turnovers under 20 minutes expected) Special Equipment: 3 DaVinci Robots Stealth technology for Neuro navigation Synthes or Stryker systems for Ortho trauma (limited ortho joints) Number of Suites: 16 ORs (12–14 routinely in use; Level I trauma space reserved) Service Lines: Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Ortho (Trauma), Robotics, GYN, Urology, General, Pediatrics, Transplants, small volume ENT & Plastics Scrub or Circulate: Both preferred Weekend Call: From end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday Float Requirement: Traveler will float between Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist Submission Requirements 2 years of current OR experience Circulating experience required ; Scrubbing experience strongly preferred Proficiency in: General, Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma Additional desired experience in: Neuro, Ortho (Trauma), GYN, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, Vascular EPIC EMR experience within the last 3 years Level I Trauma experience required Profile Requirements Work history / Resume Current Skills Checklist (completed within 1 year of submission) License verification Required certifications 1 Supervisory performance evaluation/reference (within 2 years) Proof of Taxable Address (one of the following): Driver’s License Current Utility Bill Lease/Rental Agreement Mortgage Statement Homeowner’s/Renter’s Insurance Voter Registration Bank Statement Auto Insurance Tax Return Certification Requirements BLS (AHA) License Requirements State: Iowa Compact License: Accepted About the Facility Iowa Methodist Medical Center , established in 1901 , is a major regional medical and teaching hospital with 370 staffed beds and nearly 4,000 employees .
