Director of Transportation Services

who will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of highway and transportation infrastructure projects. This individual will manage a team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff while maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. The role also includes active involvement in business development, proposal pursuits, and strategic growth of the transportation practice.

Key Responsibilities Solicit, develop, and maintain clients; establish marketing objectives, direct new business research, develop leads, strategies, and qualify projects. Maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as assigned. Strategize to decide which opportunities to pursue and determine the best approach for each pursuit (conventional, design-build, or PPP). Actively market projects, including client meetings, proposal preparation, and presentations. Oversee public and professional relations and other corporate responsibilities as needed. Provide fiscal management and planning, including preparation of an annual budget. Develop sufficient profitable business to enable the organization to achieve or surpass annual profit goals. Take appropriate management and administrative actions to help ensure that projects and the organization achieve budgeted levels of contribution to overhead and profit. Initiate and maintain contacts with key engineers, officers, and officials of other organizations and companies, requiring skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues. Negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies. Be responsible for all aspects of the technical quality, management, and profitability of contracts under their control. Ensure that high-quality management, administrative, and technical service is provided by project engineers and project managers, maintaining the organizations reputation for excellence. Ensure that organizational policies, systems, and procedures for technical work, management, and administration are implemented. Represent the organization at top-level negotiations, discussions, contract signings, professional, and business meetings when appropriate.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a Professional Engineer license in the state of Florida. 12+ years of diversified engineering experience, with at least five years in a supervisory or management capacity involving the planning, design, and construction of highway projects. Ability to manage multiple professional projects, as well as design teams, staff, and clients. Excellent verbal presentation and marketing experience. Demonstrated success winning work with FDOT and other local government clients throughout the state of Florida. Strong knowledge of Floridas transportation market, including roadway design, planning, and infrastructure funding.
