Design Product Owner Opportunity
If you are hired to this position, you will be employed by Magnit Global. You will not be employed by City National Bank. The opportunity involves CNR's agile product development and maintenance delivered via multiple cross-functional, autonomous agile teams working in coordination. Multiple agile teams working in coordination within the context of an Agile Release Train (ART) are aligned to strategic programs initiated by the Line of Business (LoB). The Product Owner directs the Agile Product Managers/Owners across the groups of teams, and develops and implements plans which will enhance the family of products and ensure that product capabilities are fit for purpose for the business, regulators, and customers. At a high level, PO responsibilities include: ensuring that the right products are built as part of the portfolio of products and is regularly in conversation with End Users. Ensuring optimal feature delivery - PO owns the product vision, strategy, leadership, and overall roadmap of the product(s) being developed across the entire portfolio of products. Having a sound understanding of the big picture that is aligned to business objectives and is the coordination point for all the Agile Product Managers. Aligning initiatives in such a way that it maintains the concept of an agile mindset, including sustainability, predictability, and persistence. Participating and leading sprint planning and the product backlog refinement for 1 or more agile teams with varied complexity product(s) being developed by teams on behalf of the line of businesses they represent. As/when needed, mentor other agile product owners on lower complexity initiatives in support of the design, development, and delivery of their product. Success in this role is measured in terms of maximizing ROI, customer satisfaction, and making decisions about investments & priorities in the context of the organization's strategy and the corresponding business goal. The Responsibilities
Define and prioritize design backlog: Own the design-related backlog, including features, epics, user stories, and design debt. Prioritize items based on user value, business objectives, and technical feasibility, working closely with the Product Manager and tech leads. Translate vision into requirements: Collaborate with UX researchers and UI/UX designers to translate customer needs and high-level product strategy into clear, detailed, and actionable design requirements for the development team. Manage the design system: For companies with a dedicated design system, you will own the product roadmap for that system. This includes ensuring its components and guidelines effectively serve design and development teams and support a consistent user experience. Provide a single source of truth: Act as the ultimate decision-maker on design requirements, ensuring the development team has a single, clear point of contact for questions about product design. Guide the design process: Facilitate collaboration between designers and the development team. Guide story creation, help break down complex design features, and use techniques like Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) to ensure clear acceptance criteria. Participate in Agile events: Actively engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and team retrospectives, providing the design perspective and accepting completed design-related stories. Analyze and iterate: Use customer feedback, user interviews, and data analytics to test design assumptions and continuously evolve the product's design. Share these insights with the wider team. The Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, UX/UI Design, or Business. Proven experience as a Product Owner, UX Designer, or Business Analyst in an Agile environment. Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies. Experience working with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and business stakeholders. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant field OR work experience. This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $72.48/hour - $77.70/hour Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K.
