Host/Hostess Position
The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for guests as they enter the restaurant. This role involves greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and coordinating with the restaurant staff to ensure efficient service. The Host/Hostess plays a key role in setting the tone for a positive dining experience. Key Responsibilities
Guest Reception Greet guests warmly and courteously as they arrive. Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates and manage the waitlist. Escort guests to their assigned tables and provide menus. Inform guests of the restaurants services, offerings, and any special promotions. Reservation Management Manage reservations and seating arrangements using the restaurants reservation system. Coordinate with the restaurant staff to accommodate special seating requests. Monitor dining room activity and maintain an efficient seating flow. Customer Service Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Ensure that guests are comfortable while waiting and provide updates on table availability. Offer assistance to guests with special needs or requests. Coordination with Staff Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area. Support servers and bussers by providing extra hands as needed during peak times. Administrative Duties
Answer phone calls and handle guest inquiries and reservations. Maintain the host/hostess stand and area, ensuring it is organized and stocked with necessary supplies. Perform opening and closing duties as required. Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting, is preferred. Familiarity with reservation and seating systems is advantageous. Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Good physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
