Survey Instrument Technician
Join our dynamic team as a Survey Instrument Technician, an entry-level position where no prior survey experience is required, although preferred. You will work closely under the guidance of a Crew Chief on various survey projects, operating Trimble Total Stations Robotics to accomplish tasks at project sites. Your role will involve performing all aspects of stakeout and location surveys, maintaining survey equipment, and ensuring the survey truck is well-stocked with necessary supplies and tools. You will also collect and submit data related to topographic, boundary, and ALTA surveys, as well as construction stakeouts. Responsibilities
Work under the direction of a Crew Chief on survey projects. Operate Trimble Total Stations Robotics for survey tasks. Perform stakeout and location surveys using survey equipment. Maintain survey equipment and ensure the survey truck is stocked with supplies. Collect and submit data for topographic, boundary, ALTA surveys, and construction stakeouts. Essential Skills
Valid Driver's License. Experience in survey instrument operation preferred, including Trimble Total Stations, Leica 3D Laser Scanner, and Trimble GPS robotics. Familiarity with topographic, boundary, ALTA surveys, and construction stakeouts preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma or GED preferred. College or technical courses related to survey are a plus. Strong communication skills are essential. Work Environment
The role involves fieldwork on projects primarily within New Jersey, with rare assignments outside the state. You will have the opportunity to work independently in the field, sometimes as part of a two-person crew. A van will be provided for transportation to project sites.
