Overview
At the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Operations Center Technicians (OCTs) apply their communication and technological skills to gather and prioritize information as it relates to emergency and non-emergency situations. OCTs serve as key members of the FBI's Field Office Operations Centers and provide data collection support and critical communication during high-risk situations. GS-7:
Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-6 grade level. SE is defined as follows: Evaluated the significance, validity, and reliability of data for inclusion in reports. Analyzed, evaluated, and disseminated information. Orally communicated with customers to gather pertinent information and provide guidance on emergency and non-emergency situations. Maintained contact with internal staff and outside entities to obtain, verify, and convey information. GS-8:
Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. SE is defined as follows: Evaluated the significance, validity, and reliability of data for inclusion in detailed written reports. Analyzed, evaluated, and disseminated information pertaining to emergencies. Orally communicated with customers to gather pertinent information and provide guidance on emergency and non-emergency situations. Collaborated with local, state, and/or federal law enforcement agencies in order to ensure an appropriate response to emergency situations.
