Leverages advanced data science methodologies to assess and predict fire risk across Hawaiian Electric's service territories. Develops models integrating weather, fuel load, and environmental data to assess wildfire risks and develop mitigation strategies. Provides actionable insights for infrastructure protection, emergency response planning, and long-term grid resilience. Supports operational decision-making through predictive analytics and geospatial intelligence. Essential Functions

Environmental Risk Modeling Fire Data Analysis Emergency Response Support Basic Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Physics, Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Fire Science, or a related field. Experience with wildfire behavior modeling preferred. Proficiency in GIS and data management tools and data libraries. Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL. Familiarity with data governance and industry best practices. Skills Requirements Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Skilled in translating complex data into actionable insights and visualizations. Strong analytical, conceptual, and administrative capabilities. Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. High emotional intelligence and discretion in handling sensitive issues. Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license. Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy. Experience Requirements Several (3-5) years wildfire mitigation, data analytics, statistics, or data mining technologies.
