Supply Chain Buyer
Qualified Professional and Technical has been engaged by our client to identify a skilled Buyer to support their growing manufacturing operation. This contract position is ideal for a purchasing professional who enjoys supplier management, process improvement, and ensuring materials are sourced efficiently to support production and customer needs. The Buyer will manage assigned products and materials within the companys supply chain by sourcing, evaluating, and maintaining supplier relationships. This position places purchase orders, negotiates pricing, monitors supplier performance, and ensures the timely delivery of quality materials. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, manufacturing experience, and a proactive approach to cost control and process improvement. Key responsibilities include: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on pricing, quality, and delivery performance Issue and manage purchase orders for products and services while negotiating favorable terms Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost and production needs Resolve procurement, quality, and invoice-related issues in a timely manner Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate material forecasts and order fulfillment Monitor and measure supplier performance through quality, delivery, and cost metrics Participate in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives Read and interpret technical drawings to communicate manufacturing requirements to suppliers Work closely with Supplier Quality to address nonconforming materials and implement corrective actions Maintain confidentiality of company information and supplier pricing Support special projects and perform ad hoc analyses as needed Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field Experience: Three to five years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Skills and Abilities: Strong negotiating and vendor management skills Experience with ERP systems (Global Shop experience preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational ability Effective communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs Additional Information: Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (overtime as needed) Travel: Occasional travel may be required; reliable transportation is necessary Environment: Professional manufacturing and office setting This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated purchasing professional to contribute to an established manufacturing organization that values efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
