University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology Oklahoma City, OK The Opportunity The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologist to lead its Pediatric Anesthesiology section, with an academic appointment as Associate Professor or Professor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, and academic leadership. The Organization OU Health is home to Oklahoma's only comprehensive academic health system comprised of University of Oklahoma Medical Center, the only Level I trauma center in the state, Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health, Edmond Medical Center, and NIH-designated Stephenson Cancer Center. OU Health's program is distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach, integrating cutting-edge research and advanced surgical techniques to deliver superior patient outcomes. The Position Reporting to Chair of Anesthesiology, Dr. Kenichi Tanaka, the Chief will oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing surgery, interventional procedures, imaging, and pain management. The Chief will engage in graduate and undergraduate medical education and clinical research, and support an ACGME-accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship. Key Responsibilities: Ensure safe, high-quality anesthesia care for pediatric patients. Support faculty development and recruitment. Mentor and supervise faculty, residents, and fellows. Develop clinical protocols and quality initiatives. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care. Mentor and supervise faculty, residents, and fellows. Contribute to curriculum design and evaluation. Foster faculty and trainee involvement in research. Collaborate on institutional research initiatives in pediatric anesthesiology and patient safety.
