Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting the full spectrum of HR functions. This includes recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and training. The role ensures that HR policies and procedures align with federal, state, and local employment laws while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located near Chicago Heights, IL.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute recruitment plans and calendars. Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and generate offer letters. Coordinate onboarding and orientation processes. Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS entries. Administer health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. Support open enrollment and benefits education. Resolve benefit-related inquiries and liaise with vendors. Assist with payroll processing and compensation planning. Address employee grievances and conduct investigations. Ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA). Support disciplinary actions and conflict resolution. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards. Coordinate mandatory and ongoing training programs. Track performance evaluations and support career development. Lead employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs. Maintain HRIS systems and generate reports. Support HR policy updates and handbook revisions. Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives and committees. Assist with audits, regulatory filings, and compliance documentation. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 2-5 years of HR experience; healthcare or manufacturing experience preferred. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, UltiPro).

Contract to Hire Pay $30-$40 an hour depending on experience
