Position Overview
Join our dynamic Information Security team at Busey, where we take on the challenge of protecting our organization and our valued customers from the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats. In the role of Lead IT Security Engineer, you will have a critical impact on safeguarding sensitive data, infrastructure, and systems. Your responsibilities will include coordinating, administering, monitoring, and maintaining essential security infrastructure, such as endpoint security platforms, firewall analysis tools, vulnerability management platforms, and data security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and maintain security systems/platforms including:
Endpoint Detection and Response
SASE/Internet Security
Firewall Analysis
Cloud Security Posture Management
Vulnerability Management
Data Security Posture Management
Assist with firewall configuration audits and scheduled rule reviews.
Engage in vulnerability management processes to analyze risks and threats, collaborating with the Technology team on patching and systems administration.
Work together with internal teams to assess security standards and align with best practices and frameworks.
Guide the implementation of products and services to maintain compliance with new or changing regulations and audit recommendations.
Develop and maintain security documentation and configuration practices.
Automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency for analysts.
Collaborate with IT Security Management to identify strategic opportunities to improve the security posture and efficiency of the Security Engineering team.
Cross-train on other core security platforms (e.g., SIEM, EDR, Email Security, IAM).
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of internet security and SASE platforms (e.g., Zscaler, Netskope), with the ability to manage and uphold security best practices.
Proficiency with workstation and server operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS).
Experience integrating systems with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) using API, Syslog, or log collection methods.
Familiarity with endpoint detection and response platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
Expertise in Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) processes and tools.
Experience with Vulnerability Management and Cloud Security Posture Management tools (e.g., Rapid7, Wiz).
Familiarity with application and code scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, Probely).
General knowledge of networking and firewall concepts, ensuring traffic security across LAN, WAN, and Internet infrastructure.
Experience conducting risk assessments in compliance with privacy regulations.
Knowledge of security frameworks and standards, including ISO27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
Understanding of compliance standards such as Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
Abilities:

Education and Training
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
On-the-job training in information security, threat and vulnerability management, or system administration.
Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty are preferred, or a commitment to pursue certification within six months of hire.
Minimum five years of experience in information security administration, vulnerability management, or security operations.
Benefits and Compensation
The salary is determined based on job duties, required qualifications, relevant experience, and local market trends. This role may be eligible for bonuses or incentives based on performance.
(Base Pay Range: $86,000 - $123,000/year)
