This position is based in Clemmons, NC.
Position Overview:
This is the entry-level classification in the Maintenance Mechanic series. Employees in this classification receive on-the-job training experience in the maintenance of blow molding/injection molding machines along with its ancillary equipment. The Facilities Maintenance Tech will also be responsible for general building maintenance tasks as indicated below.
Responsibilities
Understands and fully complies with all safety policies and procedures
Safely uses all power tools and other hand tools in support of troubleshooting and repair functions
Demonstrates ability to safely operate forklift, scissor lift, and articulating lift
Works cross-functionally with other maintenance personnel and departments to support production needs
Executes basic preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems
Performs general maintenance (e.g. change light bulbs, maintain exterior property, plumbing, roofing, office furniture install/removal, etc.) and manual repairs as needed
Completes facility inspections, prepare and submit reports of conditions in the building, and recommend actions to be taken
Solves practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Moderately effective in reading/interpreting blueprints, schematics, P&ID’s, mechanical drawings, along with other equipment documentation
Supports any after-hours building needs and activities along with any other duties as required
Qualifications
Ability to follow all safety protocols/procedures along with PPE requirements
Ability to safely operate forklift/scissor lift/articulating lift and related equipment and/or tools
Ability to work in a diverse team-oriented environment
Ability to resolve practical problems minor in complexities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization and write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to perform basic building maintenance such as electrical, plumbing, dry wall, mechanical, etc. repairs
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and other equipment related documentation
Ability to clearly communicate, both written and verbally, details of a technical nature related to equipment issues and repair needs
Proficient in MSOffice – Primarily Excel, Word, OneDrive
Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety glasses are required when working on equipment.
