We are seeking a skilled
Cloud Engineer
to support the deployment and hosting of a mobile application that will be available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and mobile app publishing workflows for iOS and Android platforms. This role will work closely with our App Development Team to ensure the seamless deployment, reliability, and scalability of MAP’s digital products that serve mentors, students, and families. Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for mobile app hosting and backend services Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for iOS and Android app builds Collaborate with mobile developers to ensure smooth deployment to App Store and Google Play Store Configure and manage APNs (Apple Push Notification Service) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure app reliability and performance Manage environment configurations (staging, production) and secure storage of credentials, certificates, and keys Optimize deployment processes and troubleshoot build and submission issues on both platforms Coordinate with UX/UI designers and backend engineers to ensure system efficiency and platform security Check and respond to emails daily, ensuring all responses are completed within 48 hours Take responsibility for performance improvement by monitoring deployment metrics and optimizing release workflows Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Mobile Infrastructure Engineer Strong knowledge of mobile deployment processes for both iOS (App Store Connect, TestFlight) and Android (Google Play Console) Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Jenkins, or Fastlane Proficiency with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure services (Lambda, EC2, S3, Firebase, etc.) Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes a plus) Strong understanding of app signing, provisioning profiles, and certificates for iOS and Android Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Collaborative, detail-oriented, and mission-driven approach to technical innovation Nice to Have
Experience with Flutter, React Native, or native iOS/Android build pipelines Knowledge of API deployment and serverless architecture Familiarity with mobile analytics, crash reporting, and security best practices Interest in education, nonprofit technology, or digital inclusion initiatives Commitment
Volunteer technical role requiring approximately 5–10 hours per week Minimum 6-month commitment preferred Fully remote with flexible collaboration schedule What You’ll Gain
