About the Role

We are in search of a dedicated Senior Solar Systems Design Engineer to spearhead the design and engineering of solar and energy storage systems for commercial and industrial applications. This role is pivotal in executing high-stakes projects that incorporate state-of-the-art technology, including Tesla Megapacks and sophisticated inverter systems. Key Responsibilities

Conduct site evaluations to determine the viability of solar and energy storage projects. Collect and interpret site data regarding electrical, structural, and environmental parameters. Lead comprehensive system designs, developing site plans, single-line diagrams, conduit schedules, and interconnection packages. Utilize tools such as PVSyst, Helioscope, HOMER, and SAM for system modeling and performance forecasting. Ensure all designs comply with NEC, CEC, UL, IEEE, and utility standards. Coordinate efforts with project managers, utility companies, permitting bodies, and construction teams. Assist with permitting, interconnection, and commissioning processes. Establish and refine CAD standards, overseeing drafting procedures. Promote ongoing enhancement of design templates and engineering processes. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing solar PV and energy storage systems. Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, and developing one-line diagrams. Experience with DC/AC coupled systems and integrating energy storage solutions (Tesla, Fluence, PCS, etc.). Strong understanding of NEC 690/705/706, UL 1741-SA, IEEE 1547 standards. Experience with investor-owned utility (IOU) interconnection processes (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, etc.). Exceptional documentation and communication abilities. EIT or NABCEP certification is advantageous. Preferred: Over 1 year of team leadership or mentoring experience. Why Join Us?
