Highlights of this Role • Inpatient nocturnist position - 7-on / 7-off schedule, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM • 100% inpatient adult medicine • No procedures • Weekends included in rotation • Slowly incorporated into RRTs with in-house physician backup
What You'll Do • Manage hospital medicine patients and nursing requests during night shift (cross-cover) • Provide clinical care for acute, subacute, and chronic disease processes, including appropriate use of ancillary and subspecialty services • Evaluate established patients at bedside for acute issues • Document all in-person patient encounters, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate and timely manner • Participate in continuous quality improvement, service delivery optimization, and service excellence initiatives • Follow care standards and protocols to deliver appropriate, cost-effective care • Actively participate in assigned meetings and committees • Model Atrium Health Core Values and adhere to Medical Group Minimum Work Standards
Core Competencies • Ability to provide patient-centered care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective • Demonstrated medical knowledge and clinical application • Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues • Commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, and sensitivity to diverse populations • Understanding of systems-based practice and efficient utilization of healthcare resources
Who You Are • Experienced APP with at least 2 years of inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred (new grads will be considered) • Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited PA program with NCCPA certification • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Master's or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with RN license and Acute Care board certification • Strong critical thinker with sound clinical judgment • Effective communicator with the ability to make timely, informed decisions
